Hell Yes, Indy Rocks!

Thursday night was a perfect microcosm of why Indianapolis has become such a kick-ass town for live music. Here’s an example of what your schedule could have been:

1) 7:30 – Hit the Tin Roof for up-and-coming band Empires, courtesy of MOKB Presents and WTTS.
2) 8:00 – Swing by the Do317 Lounge for the Bunbury Festival regional kick-off show with the Bonesetters, Faux Paw, and the Easthills.Indy
3) 9:30 – Walk down the hall of the Murphy Building (if you had a ticket for the sold out show) to Joyful Noise so you could be immersed in the sounds of Son Lux and San Fermin.
4) Go home happy.

I made it to the two Fountain Square stops and both venues were at or near capacity. It was energizing to see so many people making the effort — despite the crazy rain — to experience the unique catharsis that comes only from live music. And Thursday wasn’t an isolated event. Opportunities are out there nearly every night of the week at places like the Vogue, Old National Center, Melody Inn, Radio Radio, White Rabbit Cabaret, and more. Take a look at Do317.com if you have any doubt.

Indy rocks, my friends. Let’s keep making it happen.
